CBD Oil FAQ
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol or CBD is just one of over 85 cannabinoids discovered so far in the Cannabis plant. CBD is present in more significant quantities in hemp than marijuana, and because it is non-psychoactive, CBD is widely regarded as the cannabinoid with the most medicinal potential by researchers. CBD interacts with the body’s natural endocannabinoid system to promote homeostasis.
We suggest you find your own research on CBD and cannabinoids from a trusted source to determine if a CBD hemp oil supplement is right for you. PubMed.gov is one reliable source for information. When visiting the site, enter CBD and your ailment (i.e. migraines, arthritis, chronic pain, etc.) in the search.
What's this entourage effect I keep hearing about?
The entourage effect is a term scientists use to describe the interaction between various compounds in cannabis. It is widely believed that when consumed together, certain cannabinoids and other compounds have more beneficial effect than when consumed independently.
This term is usually used in reference to CBD and THC working together for maximum benefits. However, some companies use it to reference the beneficial effects of having CBD, terpenes, fatty acids, etc. which work together in our bodies.
What are terpenes?
Are your terpenes derived from cannabis?
Are CBD and THC the same thing?
How do we make sure you provide me with quality products?
All our products come from hemp crops that are grown free of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, so quality and safety starts with the hemp plants.
From the time the hemp oil is harvested to the manufacturing and shipping of all the products, Quality Plus Essentials reviews the 3rd party testing and Certificates of Analysis for each hemp oil product to ensure accuracy in potency information and to check for contaminants like pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, and mold.
All of our products use a supercritical CO2 method when the hemp oil is extracted, instead of harsh chemical solvents. CO2 is a much healthier choice than other potential solvents and is “generally regarded as safe” (GRAS) by the FDA.
Are hemp oil products legal?
Will products derived from hemp get me high?
No. Hemp products are all made with high-CBD, low-THC hemp oil. CBD in and of itself is non-psychoactive. THC, marijuana’s psychoactive compound, is only present in trace amounts with Full Spectrum products. The trace amounts of THC are always below 0.3% by weight which is not nearly enough to cause the high associated with marijuana.
For those looking to avoid even these trace amounts of THC, look for products made from CBD Isolates. They are 100% THC-free.
Do I need a medical card to buy CBD products derived from hemp?
No. Because hemp CBD products are dietary supplements, there is no need to obtain a doctor’s recommendation or live in a medical marijuana state to have our products delivered to your door.
However, before beginning any new supplement routine, it is suggested you consult your doctor.
How much CBD should I take?
This is a difficult question to answer because our customers find differences in their personally optimal serving size. We suggest you start low and ease your way up to larger servings if desired until you find the daily CBD levels that work best for you.
If you have questions about which CBD product may fit your needs, please contact our customer service department.
Can your products cure/treat my…?
Because our CBD hemp oil products are categorized as dietary supplements in the United States, we comply with the FDA’s DSHEA guidelines and cannot endorse any specific medical benefits of CBD or our hemp oil.
We encourage you to browse the thousands of reputable studies regarding CBD published online and talk with your doctor to see if a CBD supplement is right for you.
Which CBD hemp oil product is right for me?
This will depend on your own personal preference, desired CBD quantities, and preferred means of application. Typically, CBD products fall under one of two categories: topicals, which are applied externally; or dietary supplements, which are taken internally.
Our store has a wide selection of products featuring different flavors, potencies, and consistencies from which to choose.
Where does your hemp come from?
The hemp used for our products come from a few different places.
HempMeds® buys their hemp oil from family farms in Europe where hemp has been cultivated for generations. After tireless research into the political, economic, and agricultural landscape of growing hemp, HempMeds settled on Europe as the ideal location to grow their crops. When HempMeds discovered a farming cooperative of 750 families nestled in the idyllic European countryside, they knew they had found the partners they were looking for to cultivate the hemp used in their products.
Plus CBD Oil™ purchases their hemp oil from the hemp farmers in Denmark.
Bluebird Botanicals (Gaia Botanicals LLC) grows their hemp in Kentucky.
Empire Extracts uses Colorado grown hemp.
What’s the difference between CBD hemp oil and the hemp products I buy at the grocery store?
Hemp products sold in grocery and health food stores are most often created using hemp seed oil, which can contain only trace amounts of CBD. While it has been noted that hemp seed oil can be a great source of nutrition, its marginal quantity of CBD per weight makes it unfeasible as a CBD supplement.
Our CBD hemp oil products are extracted from the stalk of specifically selected hemp cultivars, offering higher percentages of CBD by weight and additional nutritional benefits from the contents of our oil.
Why does hemp oil in concentrated paste come in an oral applicator syringe?

Products Made From Isolates
Are there any products that do not contain THC (0% THC)?
YES! There are products that are made with CBD isolates, meaning the THC has been filtered out of it completely. If this is what you are looking for, please email us at email@example.com. We will be happy to help you find the right product for you.
Can I pass a drug test using products produced from CBD isolates?
YES. Most workplace drug screens and tests target delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and do not detect the presence of cannabidiol (CBD) or other legal natural hemp based constituents (i.e. CBD (cannabidiol), CBG (cannabigerol), CBN (cannabinol), and others). However, studies have shown that eating hemp foods and oils can, in rare cases, cause confirmed positive results when screening urine and blood specimens. This is good news for normal consumers of CBD/hemp oil.
That said, individuals using unusually large doses of a cannabinoid-rich hemp oil product (above 1000-2000mg of hemp oil daily) could theoretically test positive during the initial urinary screen. Although very rare, the urine screen in these cases would likely represent a “false positive” due to other non-THC metabolites or compounds, which may cross-react with the immunoassay. When this is the case, the confirmatory GC/MS test would be negative, since CBD and other cannabinoids will not be detected by the more accurate (and specific) GC/MS screen.
Full Spectrum Products
Will I fail a drug test?
Most work-place drug screens and tests target delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and do not detect the presence of cannabidiols or other legal natural hemp based constituents. However, studies have shown that eating hemp foods and oils can cause confirmed positive results when screening urine and blood specimens.
Accordingly, if you are subject to any form of drug testing or screening, we recommend (as does the United States Armed Services) that you DO NOT ingest this product. Prior to consuming these products, please consult with your healthcare practitioner, drug screening/testing company or employer.
Which part of the hemp plant is used?
We use all parts of the hemp plant to produce its hemp oil. Is it essentially a full hemp plant extract with most synergistic components left in tact. For more FAQs on ingredients, scroll down to the FAQ Ingredient section. (Coming soon!)
Quicksilver Nano-Enhanced Hemp Oil
Do you use nanotechnology?
The formation of our extract produces particle sizes below 100 nm, which some people would call nanotech just because of the size. These lipid particles are very similar to particles the body makes, called chylomicrons, to move triglycerides; these natural particles are in the 50–200 nm ranges.
How many pumps are in each bottle?
There are EXACTLY 100 pumps of hemp oil in each bottle.
When Nano-enhanced, how much does this increase the dosage by?
Unpublished third party studies indicate a 6x increase in system uptake through our intra-oral delivery system.
What else is in the hemp extract substance? A carrier?
We use sunflower oil as the carrier. All ingredients are listed on the label.
What is the quality of the sunflower seed oil? Is there any hexane?
We use injectable-grade sunflower lipids; it is best available, and there is no hexane used.
Are all the synergistic compounds left intact?
Most of them, with no change in molecular structure.
What is the purpose of phosphatidylcholine?
It is the emulsifier used to stabilize the small oil droplets and it is highly beneficial nutrient that is a choline source and beneficial for cell membrane, liver and brain function.
